THQ Nordic AB CEO Apologizes for 8chan AMA

8chan AMA hosted by THQ Nordic backfires to no ones surprise

In an effort to remain relevant companies usually rely on social media trends or popular culture to attract eyes to their profiles. This is why you see Arby's constantly posting about the latest game release or popular anime and SEGA making funny meme posts. However, recently THQ Nordic decided to do an AMA on an infamous site known as 8chan that is notorious for dark things we rather not mention here; let's just say even Google blacklisted the site. Simple research could've avoided this but THQ Nordic made a huge mistake hosting the AMA and has been performing damage control since. With the CEO of THQ Nordic officially apologizing for the AMA.

THQ Nordic,NoobFeed,

According to CEO Lars Wingefors’ statement, THQ Nordic AB’s focus going forward will be on executing new “policies and systems”. These will be used to stop “mistakes” like the 8chan AMA from happening again.

“I HAVE SPENT THE PAST SEVERAL DAYS CONDUCTING AN INTERNAL INVESTIGATION INTO THIS MATTER. I ASSURE YOU THAT EVERY MEMBER OF THE ORGANIZATION HAS LEARNED FROM THIS PAST WEEK’S EVENTS. I TAKE THIS MATTER VERY SERIOUSLY AND WE WILL TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO MAKE SURE WE HAVE THE RIGHT POLICIES AND SYSTEMS IN PLACE TO AVOID SIMILAR MISTAKES IN THE FUTURE.”

While Wingefors' didn't address specific statements, including how something like this happened, a general apology is usually the response for controversy such as these. It's unclear if Wingefors or THQ Nordic will follow-up on the issue.
