Devolver Digital Interested in Making a New Seaman Game
Seaman 2 coming?
News by Grayshadow on Aug 28, 2019
Recently, Gamasutra reminded Twitter that Seaman, the exclusive Dreamcast title that came with a microphone and featured Leonard Nimoy, turned 20. In a retweet, Devolver Digital went on to confirm they approached a developer about a new game in the series.
Funny note, we actually pitched a new Seaman game alongside a dev partner a few years ago. https://t.co/TDJmu4seg1

The tweet doesn't elaborate on what happened but perhaps the studio wasn't interested as the pitch took place "a few years ago". A sequel was planned for the PS2 and released in Japan but was canceled in 2007 for other regions.
It's possible for a new game to release in the series and it does seem like something Devolver Digital would do. And judging from the feedback from fans its something they're interested in. After all, the original game was something new and unexpected. Especially for a launch title for a new console.
