Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze leaping from Wii U to Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch has surpassed the Wii U in sales and now Nintendo is seeking to bring some of their previous generation games to the Nintendo Switch, with Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze coming soon.
Originally released for the Wii U the game's exclusivity ends this year, and now is coming to the Nintendo Switch with new content on May 4th. Identical to the Wii U version this version will feature new playable character, Funky Kong. He'll join Dixie, Diddy, Donkey, and Cranky Kong on their adventure.
As shown in the trailer Funky Kong is more novice players with an assortment of skills including double jumping, infinite rolls, and immune to spike damage. A similar feature was implemented in Donkey Kong Country Returns where the player was given the option of using Super Kong after dying 8 times, but unlike Funky Kong Super Kong would play the level for you.
The Switch version will also include Switch-specific features such as handheld and cooperative play using one screen and 1 joy con set.
Some may be disappointed that this isn't a new entry in the Donkey Kong series but Retro, the masterminds behind the original games, is currently hard at work with Metroid Prime 4. In addition, this could be Nintendo's way of giving gamers the chance to play an excellent Donkey Kong game that was missed by a lot of people due to the Wii U's poor sales.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is available now on Wii U, and is coming to Nintendo Switch on May 4th.
