Publisher and developer Chromatic Games is gearing up for the Steam Early Access release of Dungeon Defenders: Awakened. Becoming available on February 21st, the title moves away from the free-to-play model of its predecessor, drawing inspiration from the first entry in the series.
Dungeon Defenders: Awakened will continue improving the trademark mixture of action-RPG and tower defense that popularized the series. Up to four players can stand against the hordes of opponents online, through local LAN, or offline, which supports up to 4-player split-screen.
Dungeon Defenders: Awakened will launch with the Squire, Huntress, Apprentice, and Monk hero classes, and feature tons of loot that players can use to improve the characters. Developer Chromatic Games aims for a short stay in Steam Early Access, hoping to release Dungeon Defenders: Awakened in Q2 2020, as detailed in its roadmap. On consoles, the title will first launch on Nintendo Switch, honoring the developer's deal with Nintendo, arriving on Xbox One and PS4 in Q3 2020.
Three separate editions of the title, with prices ranging from $39.99 to $59.99, are currently available for pre-order on the game's website. You can find Dungeon Defenders: Awakened on Steam and check out its Early Access Announcement trailer.
