Publisher Ghostlight Games continues its localization efforts to bring certain franchises over from Japan. Its latest announcement sees Elminage Gothic being brought over for a Steam release, coming as soon as September 18, 2014. It will cost $9.99, which is quite the modest price for such a lengthy roleplaying game (RPG).

This is the first time that this particular iteration will be available in English and outside of Japan. Some may remember the series from its previous Ghostlight localization, when it brought over Elminage Original on PSP. You can read our review about the rather esoteric game, if you’d like to get an idea of what to expect.

Elminage Gothic continues the traditional first-person dungeon crawling. You embark with a party made up of diverse classes, each with their own abilities that complement each other. Some are necessary to identify items, others have to defuse traps and so on. Moreover, the game has a heightened challenge rating, so you’ll need to proceed with caution and bail out whenever things get to tough.

For the PC port, Elminage Gothic will improve its visuals with a higher resolution, as well as an improved interface. Moreover, you’ll be able to collect 8 Steam Trading Cards during your playthrough.

Recently, Ghostlight has sort of waved goodbye to the aging PSP in favor of Steam. It recently also announced that it would localize Way of the Samurai 4 and it already put the Agarest RPG series on the digital platform.

Preorders for Elminage Gothic on Steam start tomorrow, September 11. You’ll be given a 20% discount, a soundtrack and the Bestarium Vocabulum, which is a monster guide and art book with 118 pages.
