Final Resident Evil Village Demo Extended
The combined demo will now last a full week.

Capcom has announced that the final Resident Evil Village demo has been increased from a 24-hour window to a full week. The demo will go live in North America on May 1, and subsequently May 2 in Europe. The demo play time is still locked, this time around to 60 minutes from the original’s 30 minutes. This is good, as the demo does not contain new content, but is instead a combination of the previous demos, Village and Castle. However, like the previous demos the clock will likely still count down during cutscenes, menus, and load times.
These various restrictions have come under heavy criticisms for being archaic and out of touch with consumers. Players in Europe have been especially vocal, as the play times have been at the dead of night, often starting at 2am CEST. This has put heavy pressure on Resident Evil streamers, who may have to suddenly adjust their broadcasts to fight with Capcom’s ridged demands.
