With Halloween getting closer, Fortnite couldn't skip on the yearly holiday and has received an appropriate update dubbed Fortnitemares. On the Battle Royale front, leaderboards have been added. Season levels and unique seasonal rewards are also part of Battle Royale mode, a first step in the direction of adding some form of progression. An item shop, where players can purchase cosmetics using V-bucks, has also been added while voice chat finally arrives on consoles.
On the Save The World side of things, Vlad Moon Rising adds a new area, Hexsylvania. This area comes with a new mission type, Trap The Storm!, which revolves around reinforcing and defending existing buildings, as well as 36 new quests. Hexsylvania becomes available after completing Storm Shield Defense 3. Players will face new Halloween-themed creatures and receive candy which can be used to purchase special Fortintemares llamas. A new Defenders interface is available, while the daily rewards system has been reworked. Have a look at the full list of changes as there are quite a few.
