Frostpunk's Endless Mode Arrives Soon; Is Bigger Than Originally Planned
Frostpunk's Endless mode will cater to both casual and hardcore players.

Ruthless society survival sim Frostpunk is finally getting its Endless Mode "in a couple of days". The announcement was made in a video that also explains why the mode took longer than expected to be finished. It was initially intended to be an addition solely for those seeking an extra challenge on top of the already ruthless base difficulty. As it turns out, the mode will now also cater to people looking for a more relaxed experience of braving the frozen post-apocalypse. Dubbed "Serenity", the difficulty will allow players to focus on growing their city, giving them more resources and milder weather to deal with.
The original vision of Frostpunk's Endless Mode persists in its "Endurance" diffculty where players will face a tougher challenge. Randomized events can render portions of the city – like Automatons – unusable for a couple of days, which is bound to keep people on their heels. Endless Mode will be playable on four different maps and will allow match customization just like regular levels. All buildings and laws will be unlockable in Endless Mode. To stave off repetition, as the time limit is lifed, snowstorms will periodically roll in, covering discovered locations in the outer world in snow while revealing others for players to explore. The free update introducing the mode will also add mementos, which can be discovered while playing and contain lore about Frostpunk's world.
That leaves one more update on this year's roadmap, although no details on whether the photo mode will still be added before 2018 ends were shared. Frostpunk is now available on PC. Check out our review.
