Gearbox's Godfall is Getting Backported to PS4

Godfall was one of the big titles marketed for the PS5 when the system was confirmed. However, it joined the ranks of Battleborn as the title was quickly dashed aside. Now the game is coming to PS4 along with the first expansion Fire and Darkness.

Those on the PS5 will get access to the PS4 port for free. This decision was likely to gain more players as the game doesn't seem to have a strong audience. The title is set to release on PC through the Epic Games Store at a later date but considering the EGS's popularity with PC gamers, it likely won't be enough.

Another reason could be the PS5's limited audience. Despite record sales, the system has been heavily purchased by scalpers since its launch, forcing people to either get lucky or purchase the item at nearly 2x the asking price. 

Godfall is available now on PC and PS5, with its PS4 version being released on August 10, 2021.
