Gears of War 5 Confirmed, Coming in 2019

Gears of War 5 was leaked by Walmart last month and today Microsoft and The Coalition officially revealed the next installment in the popular third-person shooter.

Shown was a lot of new enemy types. Included are The Swarm, hybrid robotic Swarm creatures, and Kait undergoing a series of tragic nightmares. The story will focus on Kait as oppose to Gears of War 4 which focused on JD.

Most importantly we saw that Gears of War 5 will include sneaking and a new emphasis on melee combat. With Kait able to swing a giant sledgehammer weapon frequently and doing a ground pound.

In Gears 5 as Kait, journey across the biggest, most beautiful Gears world ever created. Play solo or with a friend in local split-screen co-op, or online co-op and experience every mode in 4K Ultra HD resolution with stunning HDR at a smooth 60 frames per second. Coming in 2019.

Gears of War 5 will release on Xbox One in 2019.
