God of War Ragnarok looks like it will absolutely sweep The Game Awards in December thanks to the many nominations it has received.

God of War Ragnarök released on 9 November 2022, and it has already received a very positive response from both critics and the gaming audience. However, it has only been a handful of days since the game’s release, and it has already been placed on the list of games nominated at this year’s The Game Awards. Which was not surprising, but it is always interesting to when a big-name game that happens to release close to The Game Awards and then instantly sweeps them.

The full list of nominations was released on The Game Awards site, but an easier-to-read list was released on Game Informer. And the list includes many games that managed to strike a nerve with people over the year. The Game of the Year award list includes A Plague Tale: Requiem, Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarök, Horizon: Forbidden West, Stray, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

However, it’s God of War Ragnarök that has the beefiest set of nominations, as it has been nominated for Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score/Music, Best Audio Design, two in Best Performance, Innovation in Accessibility, and Best Action/Adventure Game. This means that God of War Ragnarök has received ten nominations this year and is likely expected to absolutely sweep The Game Awards.

The Game Awards are an annual game award show, as the name may suggest, and this year it will be aired in various places online for free on 8 December 2022, so be sure to tune in and see all the new games that get showed off and to see who wins. Other games expected to do well include Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, and A Plague Tale: Requiem.
