The release of Grand Theft Auto 6 is getting closer, and time is moving faster than ever as players prepare for Rockstar Games’ next major release. With about a month left before launch, the developer still has a few key details it hasn't shared with the public. Players are now eager to learn what Rockstar has planned for the final weeks leading up to launch.
Rockstar has already revealed a lot in their trailers, promotional material, and official announcements, but there’s still some important information that we haven’t seen yet. That means we could see announcements in the next few weeks about anything from music to merch to the technical performance of the game on various platforms.

The key point is that Rockstar has confirmed there will be more announcements.
Some will cover the game's marketing, while others will detail what to expect when you finally get your hands on GTA 6. Even though Rockstar announced the game some time ago, several finer details remain a mystery. With the release approaching, Rockstar will need to provide additional information so players can prepare for launch and decide how they want to experience the game.
The soundtrack is one area where you can expect additional information in the coming weeks. Rockstar has already announced the news via social media posts, and they will reveal more details about Justice’s album and the game’s score soon. The developer has also said they plan to talk more about the dynamic score after previously revealing details about GTA 6 music.
Rockstar have already shown us a glimpse of the music and radio stations that will soundtrack your time in the game’s world, but there’s still plenty more to reveal. There may be more announcements about the soundtrack, score, and songs available as you explore Vice City and its surroundings.
Music has always been a major part of the Grand Theft Auto series, helping to set the tone of its fictional settings. With GTA 6 on the horizon, the more soundtrack drops will give you an idea of what Rockstar has in store for its next open-world adventure. The new tracks could also become a memorable part of exploring Vice City.
Look for more merchandise announcements before launch, too. Rockstar has previously hinted at more products following new merchandise drops, so this is likely not the end of its plans. If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on some GTA 6-themed T-shirts, hoodies, hats, stickers, or other collectibles, there should be more opportunities to see what the company has in store.
But updates on merchandise probably won't be the most important news for players who are mainly interested in the game itself.
Collectibles and clothing are nice if you want to have stuff from the series, but they don’t answer some of the bigger questions about GTA 6. Rockstar still has a lot of technical details to sort out, especially how the game is going to run on various consoles. These announcements will be more relevant if you’re trying to decide which platform to use at game launch.

One of the biggest remaining questions is what the PlayStation 5 Pro improvements will be. The “Plays Best on PlayStation 5” tag has found its way into Rockstar’s recent GTA 6 marketing, appearing in promotional images, blog posts, and trailer materials. Some trailers have also had PlayStation branding tacked onto them before being used in other versions more appropriate for wider platform promotion.
The PlayStation Store listing for the game already lists GTA 6 as PS5 Pro Enhanced, confirming the more powerful console will be getting enhancements. But Rockstar and Sony have yet to provide a full breakdown of what those improvements will include. Eventually you can find out whether the upgraded console will provide a higher framerate or better resolution or both.
Some technical breakdowns of GTA 6's trailers have already been done, hinting at what the game may be able to deliver visually. Digital Foundry recently examined the launch trailer and discussed its apparent rendering characteristics, including a reported 1440p output that is upscaled to 4K.
The analysis also highlighted possible AGX processing and inverse tone mapping for HDR, alongside improvements to image quality compared with the extended look shown previously. These observations provide useful technical context, but they do not replace an official explanation of the game's final performance or the differences between console versions.
The analysis also pointed to improvements in animation and camera pacing associated with Rockstar's Rage engine.
The more recent material addressed issues that viewers had noticed in the earlier extended footage. The footage also showed fewer visible aliasing problems and detailed water rendering, including realistic droplets, lighting, and interactions across the water's surface. Despite these observations, you still do not have a complete picture of what the PS5 Pro enhancements will include. Rockstar or Sony will need to provide a more detailed explanation before launch, giving players a clearer understanding of the differences between the PS5 Pro, the standard PS5, and XBOXconsoles.
That information will matter if you are deciding whether the more powerful PlayStation hardware offers enough of an improvement to justify your choice of platform. Better resolution, improved frame rates, and other technical advantages could influence that decision, but it is too early to draw conclusions without the official specifications.

The preload is another major event approaching on the GTA 6 release calendar. The announcement information also states that players who have digitally preordered will have the preload on November 12. If preload is available, you can start the download process before the game comes out, rather than waiting to start on release day.
Nevertheless, the exact download size is still unconfirmed, although there are several rumors that GTA 6 might require a considerable amount of storage space. Rockstar hasn't given an official size of the download, so players don't have a definitive number to know how much room they should reserve.
The company could publish a blog post or social media announcement ahead of the preload, explaining the game's storage requirements and reminding players to make enough space available. If the download turns out to be particularly large, receiving that information early will be important for anyone who needs to clear storage or manage other installed games.
Physical preorders will also follow a slightly different process.
According to the information outlined in the announcement, physical cases containing redemption codes are expected to begin shipping on November 12. If your order arrives on November 13 or November 14, you should be able to open the case, redeem the included code on your platform, and begin downloading the game ahead of launch.
Both digital and physical preorder customers are therefore expected to have access to the preload, although the process will differ depending on where they purchased the game. Digital customers will be able to start the download directly through their platform, while physical customers will first need to receive their cases and redeem the included codes.
The goal is to have the game downloaded and ready before launch, reducing the need to wait for a potentially lengthy installation on release day. Nevertheless, the final download size and complete preload instructions remain details that Rockstar still needs to clarify. Taken together, the upcoming announcements give Rockstar several opportunities to share meaningful information before GTA 6 launches. More soundtrack details, additional merchandise, an official PS5 Pro performance breakdown, and confirmation of the download size are all still on the horizon.
Over the next few weeks we’ll see more trailers, screenshots, gameplay deep dives, blog posts, and interviews with media outlets. Rockstar has already shown a lot of the game, but there could still be some important details left in the final stretch before launch to help you prepare for its arrival.
