inFamous Generates 1.2 Million Gigawatts

Sucker Punch's lightning-frenzy Playstation 3 exclusive title, inFamous was one of the highest-rated action adventure games of the summer of this year. Though that was the case, the game only sold a decent amount of copies, garnering more than 300,000 units in the United States the first two weeks since its release.

 

Sony recently has stated that inFamous has successfully gone platinum, selling approximately 1.2 million units as of this week. According to Sony, the total sold counts the game's worldwide sales. Accompanying the sales announcement is that Sony has lowered the game's retail price at $39.99, in which they expect inFamous to acquire a shocking surge of sales when the price drop is issued.

 

SCEA has also announced that the inFamous protagonist Cole's superpower ability, the Gigawatt Blades, will be available for the game for free on December 10th. This ability was previously just a pre-order item, but now everyone who has purchased the game will have some additional fun with its destructive power.
