Kinect support comes to Skyrim later this month

No, you read that headline correctly. This isn't some late April Fools joke. This is actually happening. Only for voice commands, however. There won't be any flailing of your arms to swing your weapons in-game, thankfully.

Bethesda announced the coming integration this morning on their blog, which was formerly just a concept from their Game Jam at this year's D.I.C.E. Summit. It will let players issue comments to followers, navigate menus to sort items by value and such, change equipment on the fly, and of course, use dragon shouts.

Skyrim has some beathtaking scenery

So now you can use whatever shout the situation calls for whenever you wish. No need to sort through menus anymore; just speak the words (assuming you know how to pronounce them) and watch the fireworks fly. The update, which is free, will arrive later this month.

The Besthesda Blog also had one other interesting little tidbit: The first set of add-on content for Skyrim will arrive on the Xbox 360 first. PC and PlayStation 3 players will get the add-ons at a later date. What those add-ons are, we don't know. Hopefully they won't keep the lid on them for too much longer.
