Despite Outriders' major online issues, Monster Hunter Rise has had no such issues since recently launching. The game sold millions of copies in the first few days and is now reaching 5 million copies shipped after a week.
Capcom made the news public today:
The Monster Hunter series consists of hunting action games that pit players against giant monsters in a beautiful natural environment. Beginning with the first title in 2004, the series established a new genre in which players cooperate to hunt ferocious monsters with their friends and has since grown into a global phenomenon with cumulative sales of the series exceeding 66 million units shipped as of December 31, 2020.
This is just for the Switch version of the game, and you can bet that when the title releases on PC in 2022, it'll see another surge in sales. Since Monster Hunter World, the franchise has seen a massive surge in appeal, with the fanbase growing to insane numbers. Monster Hunter is now one of Capcom's biggest franchises, standing beside Resident Evil and Devil May Cry.
Monster Hunter Rise is now available for Switch.
