Mortal Kombat 12 Reveal Teased by Ed Boon
Excitement for the next entry into the Mortal Kombat series grows, as a possible reveal gets teased by none other than Ed Boon.

It would seem that the next entry into the Mortal Kombat game series, Mortal Kombat 12, will soon be revealed. This is mainly because the co-creator of the gruesomely brutal fighting game, Ed Boon, has been hinting and teasing about it nonstop. According to his most recent tease, the game might finally be revealed some time this week.
This comes as no surprise, as the Warner Bros Discovery CEO and President, David Zaslav, casually confirmed that the next entry into the fighting game series was all set to be released before the end of year. This confirmation happened during a Warner Bros. earnings call that took place back in February 2023. This confirmation was somewhat lackluster and Ed Boon attempted to divert attention by making a few witty posts on social media, something he is well known for doing.
However, in the wake of the reveal, Ed Boon would continually make tweets pertaining to Mortal Kombat 12 and its official reveal. This would continue on for a few months, until his most recent tweet that stated “THIS WEEK SHOULD BE FUN,” this basically confirms that we should see an official reveal sometime during this following week. The reveal will most likely be shown through a Direct Livestream, similar to how other game developers have been doing since the wake of the E3 cancellation.
One of the most interesting things to note about Ed Boon's tweet is the fact that for some reason it is shaped like the letter "L". This strange cryptic clue has set the tweet's replies ablaze with Speculation, with many fans struggling to decipher what "L" means. However, many believe that it is meant to represent the hands on a clock, pointing to the time 3 o' clock. This is most likely the case, as we've seen the clock face motif appear frequently in Mortal Kombat 12's marketing, such as the teaser shown off last week which featured a ticking clock.
Many have taken the ticking clock and other time themed symbolisms to mean that Mortal Kombat 12 may be some sort of reboot for the Mortal Kombat franchise as a whole, as during the teaser the clock hand went from 10 to 12, skipping entirely over 11 and then landing on 1. Combine this with the Mortal Kombat reboot theory and it would seem that it is very likely that we will see the series get a fresh start.
Hopefully, when we finally get to see the reveal trailer, it will either confirm or reject the Mortal Kombat reboot theory, or perhaps it will show something else entirely. Without a doubt, the upcoming reveal trailer will leave many fans of the gruesome fighter on the edge of their seats.
