Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Mortal Kombat X have been cancelled

Warner Bros. has announced that the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Mortal Kombat X has been cancelled after being delayed twice.

According to a community post the company stated that the game wasn’t meeting quality standards set by the current-generation versions.
“We were not able to get the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a Mortal Kombat game and are very sorry for not being able to deliver the products as originally planned…If you pre-ordered Mortal Kombat for the PS3 or Xbox 360, please go to the retail location where you pre-ordered the game and you will receive a full refund.”
The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game were suppose to launch alongside the PC, PS4 and Xbox One but were delayed to June. The game was delayed again in fall without a certain release date.
Perhaps this is for the best. After the rocky launch of Batman: Arkham Knight, forcing the publisher to remove the game from Steam and recall all PC copies of the game, releasing another game that didn’t meet the standards wouldn’t have been wise.
