In the latest update for Atomic Heart, Mundfish have released Patch 1.6.0.0 which seems to bring a few tweaks to the first-person shooter. Among these tweaks include improvements to overall game stability, as well as improvements to character dialogue. For those of you who have yet to play Atomic Heart, it is a sci-fi first-person shooter that takes heavy influence from games like Bioshock and the Fallout series. The game is meant to be an action-packed alternative history in which the Soviet Union did not fall, though it doesn't exactly appear that way visually.
However, despite how interesting its premise is, Atomic Heart didn't exactly have the smoothest of releases. Even before the game got released, many players were turned off by the fact that the game is set in a post WWII Soviet Era Russia, and felt that the setting felt incredibly insensitive, especially with the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Players were even asked to boycott the game by the Ukrainian government. Despite this, Mundfish have still been releasing frequent updates and patches since their maiden title's release back in 21 February 2023. Its most recent patch, 1.6.0.0 has even released Japanese voice options.
While patch 1.6.0.0 doesn't do anything revolutionary, it is one of many in a series of changes being made to the game that all seem to aimed towards providing players with a much better experience playing the game. When going onto Atomic Heart's Steam page, one of the listed changes is that there have been improvements made to the game's dialogue, such as adjusting the length as well as placement of dialogue activation.
Also listed in the patch is a resolution to an issue with save files, a new modified FOV and what is listed as game stability improvements, however we're not exactly sure what that means. Mundfish has also included a few bits of advice on what players should do if they are experiencing any issues such as checking the integrity of the game on Steam. The most likely reason for these stability improvements is because of the upcoming DLC, which currently does not have a release date yet.
