Tatsumi Kimishima will now lead Nintendo

It’s been two months since Nintendo president Satoru Iwata passed away, today Nintendo has named a successor to lead the company.

Tatsumi Kimishima will now lead the company through the Wii U era and beyond. Prior to joining Nintendo in 2002 as director of the United States branch Kimishima worked as a representative director of the Pokemon Company.

In June 2013 Kimishima became a managing director of the compnay, general manager of the corporate analysis and administration division, and general manager of the general affairs division.

Minor changes in staff have occurred including making Shigeru Miyamoto and Genyo Takada being named the company’s first fellows. Nintendo defines fellows as “an individual selected from among the representatives directors who has advanced knowledge extensive experience, and holds the role of providing advice and guidance regarding organizational operations in a specialized area.”

These changes, and appointments, all go into effect September 16.
