Looks like Super Mario and friends have left the Mushroom Kingdom and are making their way back toward the golden arches. Today, Nintendo has partnered up with McDonald's announcing that they will be running a promotion until May 22. Anyone who purchases a Happy Meal at participating McDonald’s restaurants will receive one of eight toys based on various Super Mario Bros. characters.

Nintendo fans will have a chance to collect the following characters: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Invincible Mario, 1-Up Mushroom and a Red Koopa Shell.

“Nintendo is always looking for ways to expand its brand, and a partnership with the family-friendly McDonald’s restaurants felt like a great fit,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

For those curious, each collectable has their own unique features such as the invincible Mario, who lights up different colors or the Red Koopa Shell that can wind up and blast off just like when playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Sure, enjoying a few nuggets on the way to work sounds all fine and dandy, but coming back to the whole point of this promotion, which is trying to win one of those elusive Nintendo Switch systems.
