A lot of people love the PS4, 40 million to be exact. Sony confirmed that their latest system has sold over 40 million consoles as of today worldwide.

These numbers are not shipped to retail, but purchased by customers. That means 40 million homes have PS4 systems right now across the world!
"We still strive to deliver even more exciting gaming experiences to our users, further driving the momentum and accelerating the expansion of the PS4 platform and its business this fiscal year by offering an unparalleled line-up of games bringing our virtual reality system, PlayStation VR, to market and providing ground-breaking features and network services."
Sony expects to expand on this by sellling 20 million more consoles by the end of 2016 fiscal's year. This could be due to the release of PlayStation VR, formerly known as Project Morpheus, which releases this October.
Sony's latest first-party game, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, hit 2.7 million sales during its first week of release, becoming the fastest selling PS4 game ever released.
Since the release of the PS4 in November 2013 the system become insanely popular, reaching new milestones year after year.
