PlayStation 5's Already Sold Out Despite Sony Stating Pre-Orders Start Tomorrow
Sony meant pre-orders start today
News by Grayshadow on Sep 17, 2020
When Microsoft revealed the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles they decided to have a buffer. Allowing for pre-orders on September 22nd to prepare. Sony recently revealed the PS5 price and release date stating pre-orders, at the earliest, would begin on September 17th. Well, that wasn't true and retailers started taking pre-orders and now according to these sites are sold out.
According to an official statement from Sony posted after the PS5's reveal today:
Pre-orders will be available starting as early as tomorrow at select retailers, so please check with your local retailer.
As expected the websites could not handle the surge in traffic leading to issues connecting and checking out. Some were lucky but most were not. As of now, the PS5 is sold out in major retailers, and no word if there will be a second wave of pre-orders.
