Players have eagerly been awaiting Sony's official release of their next generation console since its existence was first leaked. Just a few weeks ago, the company came through and showed off their new Dualsense controller, the specs and shape of their newest console, as well as some spectacular gameplay. Now, PlayStation has given fans some more eye candy as they patiently await the console's release later in 2020.

PlayStation's official Twitter account recently revealed what they called: "A sneak peek at what PS5 games will look like when you see them on store shelves starting this holiday." Similar to the PlayStation 4 boxes, the plastic case will remain blue, but the blue "PS4" border will be replaced with a white one, just above the game's official box art. Sony accompanied this tweet with the box art of Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Due to the popularity of its predecessor, Spider-Man will undoubtedly be a PS5 launch title, and their continued tweets about the game emphasize the company's faith in the title. However, this newly released box may be rare  in player's collections, as the new console will be released in two versions: one with a disc drive, and one that is fully digital. Although the prices of the games will not change, the console without a disc drive will most likely be the cheaper console, as shown with the release of Microsoft's digital Xbox One S, released last year for $50 less than the standard model.

Whether or not players choose to go with the digital or disc-centered console, Sony has confirmed that both will give a satisfying, graphical marvel of gaming. Additionally, the newly revealed box art will still be available when players download each game, which means that the stunning art seen on Spider-Man's cover won't be hidden from digital players. Until the console's official release during the holiday season of 2020, players can only hope that Sony releases more box art of other long awaited games, such as Godfall, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, or Horizon: Forbidden West.
