According to the report through Reddit, SEGA wants to release the game on PC but Takuya Kimura's talent agency is against the idea. Users pointed out that this is likely to protect the image of the actor as PC versions are easier to mod. Including the extraction of assets from the game like character models. A similar issue arose with Cyberpunk 2077 when players were modding the game to make Johnny Silverhand a romance option but was banned by CD Projekt since the character was modeled after actor Keanu Reeves.
This would be a huge missed opportunity for SEGA if they cannot release the game on PC. It's a huge market and the Yakuza franchise has performed well on the platform with reviews being Postive and above on Steam.
Regardless this won't stop modders. People have become creative when creating mods, even on consoles. Gamers have tutorials and examples on YouTube showing them modding games on consoles to an extent. For now, this is just a report and no official press release has been released.
Lost Judgment releases on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series this September 24th.
