Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor now has Photo Mode. Those poor orcs.

If there’s one thing that’s captivating in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, it’s the ability to rip orcs apart by the dozen. Since it’s a bit harder to actually capture such a shining moment, however, the game has now introduced a Photo Mode.

Taking pictures in this mode will allow players to not just take screenshots, but adjust them to their liking. Options include messing around with depth of field, field of view or adding effects and filters, for the Instagram crowd out there. Photo Mode needs to be activated in the settings first. Depending on your platform, the breakdown can be seen in a detailed post here.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor,Photo Mode,PC,PS4,Xbox One

Shadow of Mordor’s Photo Mode is available for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC alike. A version of the game for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 is still coming on November 18, 2014. Previously, games like The Last of Us and inFamous: Second Son popularized the use of a dedicated mode to take pictures and edit them to whim. Of course, these were only available on Playstation 4, so it’s nice for a multiplatform release to give every choice the feature.

We like Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor a bunch and capturing kills is definitely something that would make these gruesome murders even more memorable. In fact, it’s the murdering part that’s by far the best feature in the game. You can see that in our full review.
