As part of this year's PC Gaming Show, Stardock Entertainment made further details known about their upcoming Star Control reboot. Director of Production Patrick Shaw took to the stage explaining how Star Control: Origins is an "open universe Action RPG" that allows players to visit thousands of planets and land on each of them. Exploration and ship to ship combat will be a part of the experience. Star Control: Origins will feature an "infinite universe" that's fully simulated at all times.

Modding will also play a big role in the game as ships, planets and galaxies can be customized and shared with other players online. Dubbed Fleet Battles, multiplayer will take the form of ship to ship combat and will be available both locally, for two players, and online. Star Control: Origins is set to launch on September 20th, 2018. The title is available for pre-order for the price of 34,99€ or your regional equivalent. Give it's E3 trailer a look.
