Star Fox and Legend of Zelda TV Shows Were In The Works, But Cancelled Due to Leaks

College Humour's Adam Conover provides insight into the cancellation

Some may remember the rumors of a live-action Legend of Zelda from back in 2015.

Nintendo dispelled the rumors, but as it turns out, there was a Zelda TV show planned to release for Netflix.

The news comes from an interview with College Humour's Adam Conover, who divulged that his co-workers and he were given the go-ahead to produce a live-action Star Fox show.

Shigeru Miyamoto himself greenlit the project when he visited College Humour's offices, with the show being in a claymation style similar to 2009's Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Nintendo "freaked out" when they found out about the Legend of Zelda show being leaked, and, unfortunately, pulled the plug on both it and the Star Fox show.

While it's a shame we'll likely never get to see either of the above shows, there is a Mario movie underway by Despicable Me creators Illumination.

The film is reportedly "moving ahead smoothly" despite the issue of COVID 19, and is set for a 2022 release date.
