State of Play Presentation Set for this Week
New PlayStation presentation coming this week

Sony is hosting a State of Play presentation this Thursday, July 8th at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 11 PM CEST.
The presentation will be 30 minutes long and include third-party and indie titles and 9 minutes of Deathloop. Those hoping for God of War, Horizon Forbidden West, or new PSVR information will be disappointed. Sony confirmed that they will not have any new information on those games or the new PSVR.
Sony has been in the hot seat since indie developers went public about being mistreated by Sony. Reports started to surface after developer Iain Garner went public with his opinions on Sony's treatment. Other developers then voiced their issues with Sony stating how the company prevents them from discounting their games, doesn't feature indie titles, and requires huge investments despite lackluster ROI. With developers confirming they get better treatment from Microsoft, Nintendo, and even Steam which is notorious for pushing asset flips over quality indie games.
This State of Play could be the necessary turn Sony needs to gain some goodwill with these smaller studios and the community. Sony has sold over 115 million PS4s and 7 million PS5s so there's a large market to sell their games but Sony is just not providing the tools or the basic resources needed to do so.
