Super Mario Maker 3DS Doesn't Support 3D

The port of Super Mario Maker for the 3DS won't include 3D support.
According to box art from the Canadian EB games the website list the game's packaging stating "Plays only in 2D". This is a strange addition given the 3DS primary selling function.
I never use my 3DS 3D due the power required to use the function. When I do use it it's for short burst or just for novelty.
Super Mario Maker 3DS will release for Nintendo 3DS on December 2.
