The Date for Sonic Central 2023 Has Been Revealed

Sonic the Hedgehog is probably one of the most iconic video game characters of all time, rivaling even the likes of Super Mario. The series has garnered many new games along with many loyal fans and it would seem that Sega has something in store for them as the developer has revealed the date for its third ever Sonic Central presentation.

The Sonic Central has only just been a recent occurrence and the first one was held back in 2021, since then the event has been a smash hit with fans and has become the biggest event for all news surrounding the famous blue hedgehog. The Sonic Central that was held in 2021, gave us a glimpse at Sonic Frontiers, which is considered by many fans to be the best 3D sonic game of all time, along with the Sonic Frontiers trailer, we also got a slew of other announcements.

 

Last year's presentation also gave us just as exciting news with a teaser of the Netflix produced Sonic prime as well as a glimpse at Sonic Origins, and more than 20 other reveals. The third ever Sonic Central will be held on Friday, 23 June 2023 starting at 8 a.m. PST. Same as with the prior presentations, Sonic fans will need to tune into either the official Sonic The Hedgehog YouTube channel or Twitch stream if they want to watch the presentation.

As of writing, Sega has yet to share any information about what the showcase will have in store for fans. However. the developer has teased at possibly showing a sneak-peek at some of the upcoming Sonic projects that they currently have in development. Despite this, we do actually have an idea as to what will be shown off as it would make perfect sense that Sonic Superstars will be shown off, as well as the new Sonic the Hedgehog co-op game that was just announced at the 2023 Summer Game Fest in early June.

Coincidentally, the date that Sonic Central will take place on just so happens to also be the date of the anniversary of the original Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis, so it's likely we will hear a commemorative announcement. Pair this with the pending Rovio acquisition, it likely means we will hear more about the Angry Birds crossover with Sonic at the 2023 Sonic Central.
