THQ Nordic Acquires Kingdoms Of Amalur License From 38 Studios
The deal also covers the "Copernicus" MMO that never saw the light of day.

THQ Nordic has announced in a press release today that it has acquired the Kingdoms Of Amalur IP from 38 Studios. The deal also covers the abandoned MMO codenamed Copernicus.
"The acquisition itself is being handled by THQ Nordic AB, based in Karlstad, Sweden, and daily operations (sales and distribution, evaluation of sequels & new content etc.) will be done via THQ Nordic GmbH in Vienna, Austria."
Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning came out back in 2012 to a positive reception. Although it even received post-launch DLC, 38 Studios ran into financial trouble and filed for bankruptcy not long after the game's launch.
The press release doesn't outline any of THQ Nordic's plans with the IP just yet, but between possibility of a remaster, the continuation of the abandoned MMO project and an entirely new title, it's safe to say that we'll return to the Faelands in the future.
