A new 5v5 hero shooter is slowly rising in popularity within the gaming community due to its precise gunplay, unique character abilities, and its skill based victories in Alpha and Beta testing. This game is known as Valorant, and its creator, Riot Games, has just revealed its release date.
Similar to other team shooters like Overwatch and Paladins, Valorant offers players a new way to manuver maps and defeat enemies with each hero's unique abilities. At the moment, 8 heroes have been confirmed for the game, each with a unique loadout of supernatural powers. However, Riot Games' new installment seems to be more focused on team combat, rather than pushing a payload or capturing a specific objective. Despite this, the game's official website still boasts a strategic gameplay style, saying: "Valorant is a game for bold strategists who dare to make the unexpected play, because if it wins, it works."
Valorant just revealed with a Tweet on Monday, June 1, that the game would be leaving closed beta for the official launch tomorrow, on June 2. Because of the worldwide release of this game, Riot Games informed fans that not everyone would have immediate access to the game at the same time. Korea, Japan and Asia (Pacific) will see the launch of Valorant by June 1, 7pm EST; Europe, Turkey, and Russia will go live at June 2, 1am EST, and North America, Latin America and South America will have access by June 2, 8am EST.
Whether this is the first time that fans are hearing about this game or the hundereth, players are eager to see Valorant finally emerge from its beta. Riot Games has made their new shooter a free to play game, with the only transactions being cosmetic based, as with their Battle Pass.
Valorant will launch June 2 for PC; specific graphic and cabability requirements can be found on their official site.
