Valve Adds Controller Support for the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller on Steam

Today Valve made an unexpected addition to their Steam platform, support for the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

The Pro Controller is one of the more popular optional items for the Nintendo Switch and can be used in the latest client beta on Steam. It was possible to use the Switch Pro controller but only with third-party software. With this new addition, gamers can now easily use their Pro Controller while using Steam.

Users must opt into the Steam client beta and then enable support for the controller in the Controller Support section of Steam’s settings. From here after enabling the controller, users can set up control configurations for the Switch Pro Controller on a per-game basis, or to use the controller’s regular layout across all games.
