Discussing the impressive sales, Abrak had this to say:

"It has been a labor of love between our fans and everyone at the studio. As the developer and publisher, we are immensely proud that we can say Hitman 3 is already profitable. We have recouped the total project costs in less than a week. That puts us in a really good place and allows us to confidently move forward with our ambitious plans for future projects."

Riding the wave of success of the Hitman trilogy will undoubtedly inspire the team for their upcoming 007 game.

Interestingly, the game will be a wholly original story and will focus on Bond's origins.

Given the suave, stylish action of the Hitman games, IO are undoubtedly a great studio to tackle this sort of project.

This new 007 title isn't expected until 2023 at the earliest, but Hitman 3 can be had now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S, PS4, PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia.
