Xbox Game Pass Allows Unlimited Access to More Than 100 Games

Xbox takes on EA Access with a brand new service, Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft has introduced a brand new service called Xbox Game Pass which will give gamers unlimited access to over 100 Xbox One and Xbox 360 game for a monthly price.

The service, which is not linked to Xbox Live Gold, will allow those who opt-in to the service access to free games for $9.99 a month. This will not be a streaming service but allow gamers to download the game, including all related add-ons, and can be purchased at a discount on the Xbox Live store. You'll still need Xbox Live Gold to play online for Xbox Game Pass titles.

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer wrote:

"With great games from top industry publishers such as 2K, 505 Games, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment, Capcom, Codemasters, Deep Silver, Focus Home Interactive, SEGA, SNK CORPORATION, THQ Nordic GmbH, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Microsoft Studios, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and you will always find something exciting to play across a variety of genres. Some of the fan-favorite titles coming to Xbox Game Pass when it launches to the broader Xbox community later this spring include Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, NBA 2K16 and SoulCalibur II."

The service is set to launch this Spring 2017.
