In an recent interview with japanese magazine Famitsu Toshihiro Nagoshi, producer and designer for SEGA, revealed that Yakuza 6 will bring the series protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu, to an end.
Yakuzafan translated the interview for all of us non-japanese speakers. Nagoshi explained that he wanted the PS4 exclusive to feature a graphically outstanding game for the finale.
"I do (laughs). Nonetheless, I still have hopes that one day, the feelings towards Ryu ga Gotoku that emptied out once will be roused once more. I’m not lying when I say that this is the final chapter in the legend of Kazuma Kiryu, however. Those are my true beliefs right at this moment. Usually - for example, right around this time as we’re making RGG6 (editor’s note: July 2016) - the staff generally have at least a bit of discussion amongst themselves about what we might do with RGG7. This time, though, there’s been nothing like that at all."
Yakuza 6 is set to release in Japan December 6. A release date for an english version hasn't been announced.
