From a hefty IP purchase to a heated lawsuit battle between Bethesda and Interplay, the issue regarding a Fallout MMO has recently turned out for the better. Last week, Interplay and Masthead Studios have reached and finalized an agreement in the development of a massively multiplayer online Fallout game, codenamed "Project: V13." Masthead is also currently developing game projects of their own; most notably an MMO called Earthrise.

In support of the big announcement, Masthead President Atanas Atanasov stated that Project: V13 will be a "unique experience," and "our technology will continue to evolve in order to realize all the extraordinary content and features Interplay has designed."

"Masthead's technology is impressive and perfect for our Project: V13. Its team is passionate to bring our vision and game play to the market. This MMOG will have many unique features that we will disclose before launch of the public Beta in 2012," Interplay CEO Herve Caen commented in regards to the announcement as well.

The year 2012 is indeed a-ways away, but Fallout fans can rest easy the MMO will be made; they'll just have to wait to try out the beta a little while longer.
