Killzone 3 Open Beta in February

By canana, Posted 22 Jan 2011

If you are of those who hadn't the opportunity to try the  Killzone 3 beta, Sony Europe has announced that the beta will open to all who wants to experience the new game from Guerilla. The open beta will be active between February 3 and 15 and will enable you to play one of three online multiplayer modes and one offline. The beta for Killzone 3 will bring the map MP05 Frozen Dam and can throw it in the following ways: Guerrilla Warfare, Warzone, Operations and Botzone.

Guerrilla Warfare - This is a game mode similar to the classic Team Deathmatch. Up to a maximum of 16 players, your team will kill the largest number of members of the opposing team in a given time.

Warzone - Up to a maximum of 24 players, this mode is based on a system consists of five rounds and mini missions chosen randomly, that your team will perform.

- This mode aims to offer a cinematic experience closer to what is experienced in the solo campaign, where players will have five linear missions to accomplish.

Botzone - This is the offline mode of Killzone 3, where the player faces 15 AI controlled bots.

February 3, we hope to find you in the beta. While you wait, please check our full preview and head over our forums to discuss one of the most anticipated games of 2011.

  • I'm pretty excited for this. I've seen videos of the earlier builds of the beta and I'm impressed by what I've seen. Can't wait to see you fellow NoobFeeders in the open beta, should you choose to try it out. :)

  • I read a nice article stating the discontent for the use of "Beta." Since Killzone went gold some time ago, this means that there won't be development changes, so why is this not called the Demo it actually is? It's nitpicking I suppose, but I don't see what's to dislike about the term "demo."

  • @Daavpuke: They just slap the word beta on it so that if anything goes wrong they've already got an excuse.
