Jump Force - NYCC 2018 Hands-On Preview

Jump Force brings together all the biggest anime characters, and it's glorious

Jump Force combines all the greatest animes in one package. Dragon Ball, One-Piece, and so many other franchises. At NYCC 2018 we had the chance to play the latest version of the game and we can say this fighter is one of the most intense games coming next year.

Jump Force,NoobFeed,Bandai Namco,

The demo provided characters from Dragon Ball Super, One-Piece, Naurato, Bleach, and Hunter x Hunter. Each character had 4 special moves, in addition to the basic attacks, and one unique special attack. Each one took the most iconic attack from the franchise such as Goku's Spirit Bomb. While Jump Force's combat is flashy and entertaining to look at playing it will require a lot of training.

Players pick a selection of 3 characters who share one health pool. Because of this rounds end when your single health bar reaches zero instead of having all 3 fighters have their own. This means you cannot switch out a fresh fighter when things are becoming dire. Instead, think of all 3 fighters as one character separated into 3.

The demo provided had players taking on AI control enemies, from what I told were on low-to-moderate difficulty. Even so the enemy AI was formidable, able to counter and deal heavy damage. A mid-counter system is critical to success since players can dodge mid-combo to interrupt combos.

Jump Force,NoobFeed,Bandai Namco,

Jump Force is a beautiful game with lush graphics and intense combat that will test even the most veteran fighting game fan. Newcomers will have a bit more of a challenge trying to grasp the mechanics, especially the counter system. Jump Force is insane fun with a deep intricate combat system that requires a lot of dedication to master.

Jump Force launches in February 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
