Video games are a recent phenomenon in popularity, but this industry was born more than 50 years. From all the Old-School gamers in the World, there are a few that are trying to buy some rarities, such as old consoles or even better:limited edition consoles. In the next few lines I will reveal some rarities, believe me,there are a few gamers that still buy these treasures.

10-Panasonic Q console (Game Cube)

No,it is not a console from Panasonic which is imitating the GameCube, but an improved GameCube that never saw the light of the day here. The Panasonic Q, launched in Japan in late 2001, was licensed by Nintendo, and it is able to run DVD movies, CD audio, among other types of data. Like the original GameCube, the Panasonic Q was also not able to compete in a market that was already dominated by the rival PlayStation 2, and 2 years after its launch, the company decided to end the production.

9-Net Yaroze PlayStation console

This is not a common PlayStation console; It was used to develop games, and was accessible to all at the price of 750 U.S. Dollars. Of course, the obtaining of this console had to be made by contacting the Japanese company, but gave the opportunity to more interested in it to develop their own games. This console was sold for a limited time, came with all cables and software needed to develop games, but this work was not done in the PlayStation. They need a computer to do the scheduling, and only then could send the code for the console. Another feature was that this system had to run recorded games in all regions, improving the working conditions for developers.

8-Virtual Boy

The Virtual Boy, launched in 1995, it is a portable console that was capable of generating 3D graphics ... I mean, more or less. Actually it was an optical illusion created with a technology name of "Parallax".

Released more or less than 150 euros, in the following months the reductions were constant, but the weak demand led to the Nintendo Virtual Boy decided to discontinue its production in 1996.

7-PocketStation

This is the first portable console from Sony, or should I mean portable memory card? Indeed it was those two things, but unfortunately the PocketStation was never released in the United States, much less in Europe.

This device, the size of a memory card for Psone and fitted with a small LCD screen, was able to write "saves" of games, as well as mini-titles to play anywhere. An example is Chocobar World, which was downloaded from Final Fantasy VIII.

6-Xbox 360 Elite GTA IV

It was in April that left the stores for the much awaited Grand Theft Auto IV, the first of the series being produced for the new generation of consoles. To celebrate, Microsoft decided to create a limited series of 500 Xbox 360 Elite, all numbered. In addition to a shiny finish, they present the image of "artwork" as the cover of the game, as well as the logo of the title, both on one side and the front of the console.

480 of these systems were made to the press, while the other 20 consoles were offered in Europe through a contest at the Xbox official website.

Obviously, some of these systems were seen on sites like eBay, but now will be very difficult to find any for sale.

This is another console unknown to many. The 10 Xbox special edition of Tony Hawk's Underground 2 were offered through a tender of the journal Caughtinthecrossfire, only to the United Kingdom.

These 10 units official painted by hand came accompanied by a "Crystal" controller and also by a copy of the game Tony Hawk's Underground 2 signed by Tony Hawk.

4- PSX

No, this is not the first PlayStation, but Sony's multimedia center that never came out of the earth of the Rising Sun. Launched in December 13, 2003, were the many versions available, but its high price (500 Euros) has made the market had not received with open arms.

In addition to playing PSone and PS2 games, the PSX is capable of recording television programs, play movies, music and photos. This was also the first console to get so popular menu XMB (Xross Media Bar).

Its design is unique, with straight lines and a glossy white finish. And so one is likely to take one for your private collection. Today is not available, and even if they are lucky enough to find a second-hand, be prepared to pay enough for it. All because it is a very rare beautiful machine!

3-Xbox 360 Simpsons

The Simpsons. They are a phenomenon of success, and when the movie came out Microsoft decided to join the party, producing 100 units based there. Unlike the elite of GTA IV, these are 20GB versions, finishing with a yellow, adding to this as the charismatic Homer.

All of them were offered at promotional events, so we were not attainable. However, for a few days, there have been some business on the Internet.

2-Playstation 3 "Red China"

There's nothing like having a system different from all others. And to think it was that Sony Canada, at the PlayStation 3 launch, decided to create a competition whose prize final, in addition to 500 "T-shirts, was no less than 3 PlayStation 3 red.

The color "red-China" was chosen because of the colors of the flag of Canada, and were the first official PS3 consoles to suffer a change of look. Another point that makes them so rare in the series is being 60GB, with two extra USB ports, as well as inputs for memory cards.

1-Super Play Station (Super Disc)

.

Before being created in Sony's games division, it helped to develop the Nintendo Famicon Play Station. A console that besides the cartridges that its predecessor (Super Nintendo) use, reproduce, thanks to a CD drive developed by the Japanese company.

However, Nintendo had also developed a partnership with Philips, and a moment's notice the team of Ken Kutaragi decided to abandon the project.

What was the reason to choose the Super Play Station (Super Disc) in the first place? If not for Ken's vision to develop a revolutionary console (later already with the "Play" and "Station" together), the industry of video games certainly would not have changed much, and reality as we see today could well be else. Moreover, only 200 were manufactured Super Play Station consoles, which makes it so rare. Certainly a subject we all would like to have in our collections!

I still have my Atari and my ZX Spectrum 128k,the ones that survived to younger consoles such has the PS2 or XBox,I still play them sometimes. And you my friends, care to share any relic that you still have?
