It's been a while since Cyberpunk 2077 received any major update after Patch 1.63, which indicated the Phantom Liberty release, and the Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.62 Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode and NG+ update. After teasing about the update a day before, Cyberpunk 2077 received a free update today from CD Projekt RED. The update included several enhancements to the gameplay, Photo Mode, character customization, and more. Along with the update, REDstreams released a new episode that included an in-depth discussion about the change with the developers.
Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 is the result of a tight partnership between CD Projekt RED and Virtuos, a team that has created several famous AAA games for PC and consoles. This update is available on Xbox One X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC and is downloadable to everyone who owns Cyberpunk 2077.
This patch adds over 100 additional personalization choices for V, CrystalCoat compatibility for certain vehicle brands, and a new TWINTONE color scheme function for CrystalCoat-compatible vehicles, among other features. A plethora of new features, including posable NPCs, light sources, camera choices, and aspect ratios, have been added to Photo Mode in a big way!
In Update 2.2, you will have access to additional choices for personalizing their characters, such as cosmetic cyberware, tattoos, cosmetics, and more. Plus, you can now change the color of some vehicles using the proprietary CrystalCoat technology, which is available to all luxury and sports automobiles associated with Rayfield.
Photo Mode has also seen some changes and now has more capabilities. These include better camera settings, more lighting choices, more camera range, and the ability to spawn up to three more characters in the scene. While driving around the city of dreams, you can also experience the company of Johnny Silverhand. Not only that, but Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 adds even more mysteries to Night City and a slew of technical upgrades.
Apart from updating several issues with the Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty quests, Update 2.2 has also adjusted the animation of one of the katana finishers so that it now decapitates foes correctly. The memory cost reduction buff will now have the intended effect on the iconic system collapse and iconic synapses burnout Quickhacks. Behavioral imprint-synced faceplate icons for Tier 5+ and 5++ will now be shown on the HUD when driving.
The Synaptic Accelerator will no longer be active if you are detected not in combat. When using a controller to engage in vehicle combat, the horn will no longer sound when you reload weapons. The NCPD should now continue to operate normally after V's engagement in the gunfight in Pacifica between the Voodoo Boys and the Trauma Team.
Issues outside the game, such as TV shows being excessively quiet or muted and CrystalCoatTM not applying correctly after getting into a car, have been fixed. Also, the Trauma Drama's high scores have been decreased by popular demand and how V moves his lips in a number of situations, including the credits. The problem with the voiceover cutting out during the Ebunike station introduction on NCART has been resolved. Finally, the ray-traced shadows on V in Photo Mode have been fixed.
I'll be posting an in-depth analysis of all these updates after checking them in real-time gameplay. Stay tuned.
