In the Flying Waters region, which is the second area you explore in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, you will come across your first paint cage puzzle.

Solving this puzzle earns you a trophy called "The Paint Cage" or an achievement, depending on which platform you're playing on. Here's exactly what you need to do to unlock it.

Locating the Paint Cage Locks

Paint cage puzzles are solved by shooting three small locks. These locks are typically found near the paint cage itself. In the Flying Waters paint cage puzzle, start by looking to the right of the paint cage. You'll find the first lock-up on the cliff wall.

Now, turn around and look directly opposite the paint cage. On a cliff wall further away, you'll spot the second lock.

For the third lock, you may need to look around a bit more. As you move and explore the area, you'll eventually see the third lock at the end of the whale's tail, in the distance across from the paint cage.

Reward for Completion

Once all three locks are destroyed, you'll receive a chroma elixir shard. The chroma elixir is a crucial item that heals your entire party between flags, and you begin the game with only one. This makes the reward especially useful early in your journey.

That wraps up the paint cage puzzle in the Flying Waters region. Solving it not only gives you an achievement but also provides a much-needed healing resource to carry forward.
