Unlocking the Clea Boss Battle

To find and unlock the Clea boss battle in Clair Obscure: Expedition 33, you'll need to wait until after you've beaten the game. This fight is tucked away on a floating island, so it's essential to have the flight ability unlocked.

The location you're looking for is called the Flying Manor. It's strongly recommended that you're at least level 75 before attempting this boss, though the higher your level, the easier the fight becomes. At level 87, you could potentially take Clea down in a single hit.

When you arrive at the Flying Manor, look around the central area, where you'll spot four glass cases. Each of these corresponds to a different boss battle within the manor. To activate them, explore the area: take the elevator on the left to one boss, the elevator on the right to another, and then find a rock-climbing section on the left that leads to a third boss.

For the fourth, use the floating picture frames on the right as ledges to access another hidden boss location. Once all four cases are lit up, you'll be able to approach the sealed door in the center.

Preparing for the Battle

Make sure you're ready before you walk through the door. You should be safe up to level 85, but if you know how to fight well, you can face Clea at any level. When you're ready, deal with the door to start the fight.

Understanding Clea's Mechanics

Clea is designed to test everything you've learned throughout the game. This boss requires you to parry a wide range of attacks—each mirroring different enemy types you've encountered. If you can parry all of them successfully, the fight becomes relatively simple.

However, there's a punishing mechanic: if Clea hits you even once, she regenerates 600,000 health. For most players, that's essentially an entire health bar's worth of effort undone.

One-Hit Strategy to Beat Clea

To bypass Clea's regeneration mechanic, your best bet is to bring her down with a single, massive attack. One effective way to do this is by using Myel and her Level 3 Gradient attack called Gage.

Another viable method is using the VIRTUOSE Stance and hitting a marked and burning enemy with the STENDHAL ability. These approaches can deal an enormous amount of damage—anywhere from 25 to 35 million, which is more than enough to one-shot Clea, whose HP sits at around 8 million.

Ideal Build Tips

Since the fight centers around parrying and high burst damage, you don't need to prioritize defense or health. Instead, focus on speed and critical chance, and invest your ability points into luck and might.

These attributes will increase your odds of surviving long enough to deliver that powerful hit. You can also incorporate attacks that break Clea, allowing you to chain together six back-to-back attacks without needing to dodge.

What You Get for Winning

Defeating Clea not only unlocks an achievement or trophy, but it also grants you one of the best pictos in the game. You'll also be treated to a visually stunning cutscene that caps off the experience beautifully.

This strategy guide should help you conquer Clea without breaking a sweat.
