5 Franchises Nintendo Should Revive

With E3 2018 on the horizon, many are expecting a lot of surprise announcements. This includes progression on currently announced titles and new reveals. Nintendo has some of the biggest franchises in gaming but some have been put on hiatus. Here are 5 franchises Nintendo should revive.

5. Kid Icarus

Kid Icarus: Uprising remains on the Nintendo 3DS' greatest games of all time. The action-packed RPG style combat system and active battles allowed for incredible fights. The multiplayer was fully fleshed out and provided, what many considered, a 3D version of Super Smash Brothers. However, we haven't seen a new since then. If anything Nintendo should consider remastering the DS game for the Nintendo Switch because it still holds up to this day.

4. Punch-Out

Punch-Out!!'s last release was on the Wii in 2009. The game received many positive reviews and was one of the system's stand out games. It was an intense arcade boxing game that included bosses ranging from simple to incredibly challenging, one of them being Donkey Kong himself. With the Nintendo Switch providing multiple ways to bring players together it gives Nintendo the perfect opportunity for players to take up Little Mac's gloves and step into the ring again.

3. Advance Wars

One of the most difficult strategy games ever made was Advance Wars. The turn-based tactical game required absolute dedication as the player was required to coordinate their soldiers while taking advantage of the environment, different types of forces, and the enemy commanders weaknesses to succeed. The series has been heavily praised by critics and gamers for being easy to learn but difficult to master as things can easily snowball against you.

2. Ice Climber

Ice Climber only had 1 release and the series characters were revived for the Super Smash Brothers series. Since then the series has gone dark with virtual console releases for Nana and Popo's original adventure. Perhaps it's time for the duo to come to the modern age?

1. F-Zero

Captain Falcon has become more known for his part in Super Smash Bros. than F-Zero. Despite its popularity, the series hasn't a full release since F-Zero GX on the Nintendo GameCube in 2003. Many are hoping for the high-speed franchise to make a return and like many of Nintendo's titles, it would be perfect for multiplayer.
