Back to the Past: Balloon Fight (NES)

Hmm! I am thinking of starting a new series of blogs about past games. I am going to tell my past experiences while playing the games and also going to remix one of the songs of the game.

 

 

So what game should I start the series with? Anyone remember the old NES classic Balloon Fight. Yes! It is a simple arcade game which is both fun and challenging released back in 1985 for NES. Gameplay is simple. You are a player with two balloons attached at the back like the character in the box art. There are two modes. In the first mode, you fly and try to pop balloons of the enemy. If you are able to pop the balloon of  the enemy, the enemy releases his parachute and fall either to the ground or to the water slowly. While in parachute, the enemy glides slowly unless you pop the parachute again. If it falls to the ground, you need to go to the ground, touch it to kick him to the water. The player also keep aware that a big fish is swimming in the water and swallows anything, whether it is the enemy or the player, when they are near to the water. Controlling the balloon is not that difficult, it requires some practice. Controlling gets more difficult if a player loses a balloon. If two balloons are lost you lose a life. There are 3 lives in total. It is a game to score as much points as possible. In the second mode, you just guide the player to cross lightning obstacles while flying and not going down to water. You will have only one life. As you progress, the score automatically increases. It seems simple enough but it is hard when you actually play the mode.

 

The two player mode is actually the fun part. I used to play the first mode a lot either with my uncle or my aunt. We used to challenge each other who can kill most bandits. We considered a gruesome challenge, since most of the time we used to partner with each other only to pass levels and didn't consider points but this time we didnt hesitate to kill each other by popping each other's balloons just for getting each other ways. We also has some verbal fights between each other. Everything is fair in war. Sometimes we used to push each other. I used to stand in front of him to block his view. I was a little kid so I did most of the dirty jobs. Since it is just a small game, I dont have anything else to talk about. I love the music btw. So I remixed the original song and now I am sharing to you guys exclusive in NoobFeed.
