One of the biggest attractions of the Battlefield franchise has always been its multiplayer mode. Just thinking about it, DICE developed Battlefield Heroes, a MMO free to play, which explores the most of the main attributes of the franchise.

The title was a success, especially because it is a game with cartoonish style that ran directly into Internet browsers. Now the series returns with BattleField Play4Free, providing more refined visual quality and the same experience we expect from a battlefield.

Supported in Battlefield 2 and using the same engine, Battlefield Heroes, the title does not require powerful hardware to work without much trouble. The gameplay is familiar and the class system is reminiscent of the excellent Team Fortress, with attack, defense and support units. Before leaving for combat, you must create a soldier and select your equipment. The options for customization and character enhancement are one of the strengths of the game - and should be the basis for future internal microtransactions.

Play4Free has four classes: Assault, Medic, Engineer, and Recon. The first brings the foot soldiers, with guns and ammo kits. The doctors carry guns less powerful and are capable of recovering energy from their partbers. Meanwhile, the Engineers can repair damaged vehicles on the battlefield and units Recon (recognition) function as snipers (snipers). The characters visual is not very diverse, leaving more customizations for the selection of weapons and equipment. As we have already tested the closed beta, the title really has a great potential.

Play4Free already has two different maps, one based in a city and another in an open territory. Each session holds up to 34 players - divided between two teams, U.S. (U.S. soldiers) and RU (Russian army) - and participants can not choose which faction will take part. The dynamics follows the King of the Hill formula, in which players must capture various control points around the map. You earn points for each action taken (kills, assists, and the like). The session ends when the score of one of the two teams reaches 1000.

As usual in the Battlefield franchise, the vehicles are present and are quite useful on the battlefield. Tanks, armored vehicles and armored cars used to move and clean the scene. All the war machinery can be reduced to scrap if not used well, but the engineer might repair the damage.

Battlefield Play4Free is getting very good and should be applauded by the fans of the franchise. Best of all is that the title will be free to play, meaning you pay nothing to run the game on your PC because Play4Free runs directly in your browser. The Open Beta for Battlefield Play4Free already kicked on April 4 and the final version has no release date set as of yet.
