The action game. Where story usually takes a back seat for large explosions and extensive boss encounters. We've had a lot of incredible action titles this year but only 1 reign supreme. Here is NoobFeed's best action game of 2019.

After years of requesting the long-awaited sequel to Devil May Cry 4 launched this year. It was spectacular. With Dante and Nero being accompanied by newcomer V to hunt down a new demonic threat. It's everything that a great Devil May Cry game needed. The elaborate move sets, strong enemy design, lots of distinct levels, and fantastically designed boss fights made each stage a thrill ride until the end. With an epic final boss fight to close off the game.
PlatinumGames is often noted as the king of action games, and for good reason. Each one of their titles goes beyond expectations when it comes to action. With giant eruptions, elegant boss encounters, and a musical score that always gets you in the mood for a fight. And Astral Chain is all of that and more.
This Nintendo Switch exclusive is easily one of the best reasons to purchase a console. With an apocalyptic world where Chimeras have brought humanity to extinction. Specialized forces in an organization called Neuron are the only ones that stand between the Chimera and humanity, with some soldiers wielding their own Chimeras called Legions. Leading to insane encounters that make you feel like you're playing an anime.
Astral Chain is one of PlatinumGame's best projects.
How do you follow up on one of the best games of 2018? You make an expansion that can be considered it's own game. Monster Hunter World Iceborne continues this legendary journey with more monsters, armor, weapons, and an end game that has you fighting even more powerful versions of existing monsters for even more powerful gear.
Capcom has gone above and beyond with this title and Monster Hunter Iceborne gives more than most full releases provide. And they're still giving more!
A sleeper hit from 2019 but something worth checking out. Rad comes from the creative minds of Double Fine. With children being the last hope for humanity trying to survive the post-post-apocalyptic world. This rogue-like title is short in the narrative but strong in gameplay. As you attempt to crawl closer to your end goal of restoring power to one of humanity's last settlements. All while gathering random mutations to extend your already short life.
Despite not technically being a Yakuza game Judgement takes everything that gamers loved about that franchise and used it here. With players taking on the side of the law with Yagami and focusing on his detective skills. With ample opportunities to leave the main story for optional objectives. The adventure can take very odd directions as the insanity starts to ramp up, especially in combat where the game takes on an action arcade-style with insane martial art moves.
Judgment is insane and full of quality content that will keep players busy for hours.
The Surge was an average science-fiction adventure that developed its own audience. The Surge 2 cultivates the previous game's positive features such as the dismembering system. Allowing players to cut off the body parts of their enemies and use their equipment. Allowing for some entertaining farming as you slice body parts for that arm, weapon, or whatever you needed.
The best part of the original game were the boss fights. While intense they all offered unique encounters and The Surge 2 didn't disappoint. With elaborate boss fights against deadly machines, trained soldiers, and powerful hybrids. The game's narrative was a bit stale, especially with a mute custom character. But The Surge 2's combat was definitely a cut above the competition.
