Destiny Gameplay Revealed
News by Grayshadow on Jun 11, 2013
The world gameplay premiere of Destiny was shown as Sony's conference. The wasteland was covered in abandoned cars and destroyed roads. The cooperative ally was dropped from a drop-ship before entering what appeared to be dungeon. The interface was littered with traditional FPS data such as ammo, 2 icons for special abilities, and the location and level of your ally.
When inside the wall, by using the ghost module they locate the light switch and alter the surrounding enemies. Like your ally these creatures, totting melee and automatic weapons, have their level and health on display. Special abilities such as ammo modification and what appears to be special buffs are highlighted with special animations. Ultimately the looting seems to have similar concepts to other RPG's where the player collects upgrades from fallen enemies to increase the power of their avatars.
Outside a new character called the Titan joins in as an unexpected ship transports to there location and the players join something called a public event. A new enemy called a Devil Walker, sporting heavy weapons, is joined by another fireteam. After killing the Devil Walker the demo ends and a trailer starts showcasing the world, environment, of Destiny both in outer-space and on the planet. Bungie and Activision have entered an exclusive partnership with Sony.
