Dune: Awakening Guide | How The Circuits Work
Here's a detailed overview of how a Circuit works and its potential capabilities.

Circuits in Dune: Awakening serve as a versatile organizational system for automating resource flow between Storage Containers and crafting stations.
By connecting specific circuits to inputs and outputs, operators can speed up production, cut down on manual transport, and keep resource stocks organized across large bases.
Circuit Basics
Upon expanding a base, two dropdown menus appear when accessing Storage Containers or selecting crafting stations. These menus correspond to the left-side input circuit and the right-side output circuit.
The input setting dictates which containers or stations supply resources, while the output setting determines the destination for overflow products.
Circuits effectively isolate resource streams, ensuring that workstations pull only from designated storage and deposit processed materials into intended receptacles.
Configuring Input and Output
Consider a Refinery configured with its left input set to Circuit 5. In this setup, the Refinery will only draw raw resources from any Storage Container or Storage Chest whose output circuit is also set to Circuit 5.
All other circuits remain invisible to that machine. For output, assigning the Refinery's right circuit to Circuit 6 specifies that any overflow—once the internal storage of the Refinery reaches capacity—will be sent exclusively to containers with their left input set to Circuit 6.
Managing Overflow
Each workstation, including the Refinery, retains a built-in storage buffer. Processed resources remain within the machine until its storage is whole. At that point, overflow items follow the output circuit assignment.
If the default Circuit 1 remains unchanged, overflow items may be distributed randomly among all available Storage Containers, often scattering processed stacks across multiple locations.
To prevent disorganization and frequent manual tidying, matching container inputs to the chosen output circuit is essential.
Optimizing Base Layout with Circuits
Circuits enable the strategic placement of production facilities and storage areas throughout a larger base. By ensuring a Refinery remains perpetually full—such as by pre-loading it with Ammunition—operators guarantee that every refined unit bypasses internal storage and flows directly to the designated circuit.
This method cuts down on trip time because refined materials are sent automatically to remote storage areas without any help from a person. This supports a decentralized layout where warehouses and crafting stations don't have to be next to each other.
Using Circuits for Organized Storage
Beyond automated workflows, single circuits can isolate critical resources or reserve backup stacks. Assigning a unique circuit to a container prevents any workstation from inadvertently consuming those materials.
In guild or team environments, circuits combined with container access rights can segregate resources into officer-only or general-use pools.
By setting up input circuits for consumption and output circuits for distribution, the guide makes sure that only authorized people can get to the valuable items while all members can still use the communal stocks.
