Everything We Know About Overwatch's Next Hero

The upcoming hero for Overwatch is someone, or something special. Unlike Ana or Sombra Blizzard is teasing the community with new updates regarding the next hero of Overwatch. Here's what we know so far.

It's not Doomfist

For a while, many assume that the upcoming hero would be Doomfist, a hero that has been teased constantly through the game. However, game designer Jeff Kaplan shut down that rumor when he stated it "is not who you think it is". If it's not Doomfist who is it?A Genius

Later Blizzard released an in-game interview with an 11-year old robotic and AI genius Efi Oladele. Efi received a "genius grant" and was recognized for her many accomplishments. Many believed that this was the new until the news report broke out and change in the PTR realm.

Doomfist Gauntlet Missing and Destroyed Robots

In an in-game news report, OR15 defense units were destroyed by an unidentified assailant at the Numbani airport. One of the units was hit so hard that OR15's body was lodged into a wall. In addition, the Payload that carried Doomfist's gauntlet is missing in the PTR realm. The latest clue points towards Efi as the culprit, or her creation.

Build Them Up

In the latest tease, Efi posts a new image with the phrase "Time to get to work!". In the description she lists a:

UR-15 Chassis
Brandford Arm
Fusion Driver
Miniature Tolbelstrin Reactor
Paint
Axiom Vocal Processor?
Lucio-Ohs!

Looks like Efi is building something big, the next hero!

Verdict

It's likely that the next hero is a robot made from an OR15 and heavily modified by Efi. It's unlikely to be a support class, given the new report's image, and possesses Doomfist's gauntlet. It's too early to determine whether Efi's creation is rogue or she's still in control of it. Either way, this creation is strong and willing to take extreme measures when threatened.
